The Ecology Centre Walking Group

The Ecology Centre have started a walking group based at Craigencalt. Initially the walks will utilise the footpaths around the site and in time expand out onto the many and varied paths in the surrounding area, including Kinghorn village.  The Centre is working closely with the Pathways Group and has also spoken to the Fife Rangers Service.

Part of the plan for the walking group will be to encourage an interest in the local flora and fauna. Walkers will also record the wildlife they see whilst walking around the area.  This will give a comprehensive record of how the site and area is doing.  We are hoping to link this group with others at The Ecology Centre e.g. Photographic Club and Lunch Club. 

A Walk Leaders Training Course run at the Centre has provided volunteers and staff with the skills to lead safe and interesting walks. The course was run by Bums of Seats from Lochore Meadows supported by the Paths for All Initiative.
